Your welcome pack
Welcome to Blincoe.
Here's exactly what happens next.
You've taken the first step. This pack sets out what you can expect from us, what we'll need from you, and, clearly, when any fees apply. No jargon. No pressure. No surprises.
Haven't booked your first meeting yet?
Let's get it in the diary, it's the best next step while everything's fresh.
A two-way partnership
What to expect, and what we'll need
What you can expect from us
- Expert advice across the three areas that matter most: investment management, retirement planning, and tax efficiency.
- Sophisticated cashflow modelling, using both deterministic and stochastic methods, so you have a clear projection of your financial future and can act with confidence.
- Proactive planning, not reactive fire-fighting. We come to you with ideas rather than waiting to be asked.
- A responsive service, with a same-day reply whenever we can.
- Fixed charges, agreed up front and never a percentage of your wealth.
- Independent, conflict-free advice, with no commission and no product bias to pull us away from what's right for you.
- A named planner who knows your case inside out, from start to finish.
- Plain-English advice, with everything explained and no jargon left hanging.
What we'll need from you
- Openness and honesty about your full financial picture, the more we can see, the better we can advise.
- Good organisation. Much of our value comes from modelling, and better inputs mean better outputs, so the more organised your information, the sharper the plan.
- Timely responses to our requests, so we can keep the momentum going.
- A willingness to change. We can only advise those who want to be advised, and even the best plan needs you to act on it.
- A commitment to our annual planning meetings and mid-year reviews, where we keep everything on track.
- Your questions, as many as you like, and nothing is too small.
Before we meet
A little prep goes a long way
You don't need to prepare anything formal, but a few minutes of thought beforehand makes our first conversation far more valuable. Come as you are; we'll guide the rest.
Think about your goals
What does a good life look like, this year, and in ten? Retirement, family, freedom, peace of mind.
Gather the basics
Rough figures for pensions, savings, investments and income. Exact numbers can follow later.
Note your questions
Anything that's been on your mind about money, tax, retirement or the future. Bring the list.
Involve your partner
If your finances are shared, it's best if you're both there. Great plans are built together.
How it works
Building your financial masterplan
Five clear stages. We move at your pace, not a stopwatch. Some steps take a single meeting; others depend on information from third parties. We will always tell you where you are.
Stage 01
Vision
We take time to understand what a good life looks like for you: your goals, your values, and what you want your money to make possible.
Stage 02
Analysis
We assess how well your current plans are serving you, your investments, pensions, protection and wider arrangements, and identify where there's scope for enhancement.
Stage 03
Proposal
We set out the opportunities to improve on your current position and talk each one through with you. This is backed by comprehensive cashflow modelling, a clear projection of your future finances, so you can see where you're heading.
Stage 04
Implementation
Once you are happy, we put the plan into action. We handle the investments, paperwork and admin, clearly and efficiently.
Stage 05
Review & adapt
Life evolves and so does your plan. We review regularly and adjust when needed, so you keep moving in the right direction.
A quick note on timing
To advise you properly, we often need information directly from your existing pension and investment providers. This is done through a Letter of Authority (LoA), and providers can be slow to respond, sometimes taking several weeks. It's the one part of the process we can't fully control, so please don't worry if there's a pause. We chase on your behalf and keep you updated at every step.
Our fees
Clear from the start. Fair all the way through.
You won't pay a penny until we implement the plan we've agreed with you, and the first contributions or transfers are completed.
Everything up to that point - our first conversation, the analysis, the cashflow modelling and the full presentation of your plan - comes at no charge. There's no cost and no obligation unless you decide to go ahead and implement what we recommend. And when you do, our charge is a fixed pound figure, agreed in writing before any work begins, never a percentage of your wealth.
Ongoing planning, per month
Core
£200/mo
Straightforward pensions, ISAs and day-to-day planning.
Core Plus
£300/mo
Joint finances, early retirement goals and a wider mix of accounts.
Comprehensive
£400/mo
Planning or entering retirement, with a focus on cashflow.
Complex
£500/mo
Trusts, offshore assets or detailed estate planning.
One-off set-up fees
Your ongoing plan is recommended on how complex your needs are, not simply how much you have, and every one-off fee is confirmed in writing before any work begins. We'll always agree the right plan with you first. Capital at risk.

Other costs to be aware of
Our planning fee is only part of the story. When you invest, a few other costs apply, and we believe in setting them out plainly. Your personal illustration confirms the exact figures for your situation before anything goes ahead.
Platform charge
The platform that holds and administers your investments charges a small annual percentage, typically 0.15% to 0.20% a year and lower for larger portfolios. We choose platforms on value, not on what pays us, and there are no kickbacks to Blincoe.
Fund charges
The investments themselves carry an ongoing charge (the OCF), around 0.35% a year on our core investment proposition, paid to the fund managers, not to us. We favour low-cost, well-diversified funds to keep this as lean as possible.
Every cost that applies to you is laid out in full in your personal illustration and service guide before you commit. No hidden charges, ever. Capital at risk.
